History
Established in 1929 by Ray and Evelyn Adams, who were later joined by Fred and Wilma Winterfield, Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan has been serving the families of Downers Grove and the surrounding communities with exceptional personal and professional care for more than 90 years.
The business was purchased in 1984 by the Sullivan family, owners and operators of a funeral home in the Marquette Manor area of Chicago since 1924. The Sullivan family is proud of their now four generations of funeral service to families. That heritage, together with the Adams-Winterfield tradition, has shaped our commitment to the families we serve - that is, we are more than a building or a business...we are a resource.
We are most proud of our facilities, and we have received many compliments over the years about our comfortable and homelike surroundings. It is simply another part of the unmatched care that we provide. We understand that service is the reason for our existence, and we take a great deal of pride in helping a family through a most difficult time. It is also most gratifying when families we have served recommend us to other family members and friends. We are glad to offer support, guidance, and assistance.
